  5. Do you carry both general liability and workers compensation insurance?  Can you produce currently valid insurance documents?

  6. What are your credentials and the credentials of any of your team members?

  7. If you're the only person in your company, what happens to my call or email if you're out on another job?

  8. What's your Better Business Bureau rating?  Do you have any unresolved complaints pending with the BBB?

  9. How will you determine the load calculation of the new air conditioner or furnace?

  10. What is your policy on payments and retainage?

  11. What is your policy on repairs and service?

  12. What is your policy on refunds?

  13. What is your policy on clean-up responsibility?

  14. What is your web site address?   How long have you had a web site?

  15. Do you have a working link to the Better Business Bureau on your site?

  16. Do you have references on your web site that I can contact?  If not, can you provide references?

  17. Do you send emails from a free Gmail account?  (Or Yahoo or any other non-company linked email address)?  If so, why do you not have a company email address?

  18. Will you provide me with a signed quote on paper?  (You don't want a quote in a Word document where the date is always set to show today's date).

  19. Why do you send a quote in Word with a date that always shows today's date?
